    Example:

    2. She was not sick yesterday
    3. Was she so busy?

    Simple past tense formula is:
     (+) Subject + to be (was/were) + complement

     (?) To be (was/were) + Subject + complement
2. Past Perfect Tense

    Definition:
The Past Perfect Tense is used to express an event        that happened before another event in the past to        express two events that happened consecutively.

    Example:

    2. I had not written a novel before Vina came
    3. Had you written a novel before Vina came?

    Past Perfect Tense formula is:
    (+) Subject + (I/you/they/we/she/he/it) + had + V3            + object + adverbs
    (-) Subject + (I/you/they/we/she/he/it) + had +                 not+ V3 + object + adverbs
    (?) Had + subject + (I/you/they/we/she/he/it) + V3            + object + adverbs?

3. Past Continous Tense

    Definition:
Past continuous tense is a tense that describes              an event that is happening in the past or an                  event that happened in the past and is still                    ongoing until the second event occurs.

    Example:
    1. They were studying when i came
    2. She was not reading a book
    3. Was he calling you yesterday

    Past Continous Tense formula is:
    (+) Subject + be (was/were) + verb-ing +o
